The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has suspended the Chairman, Borno State PDP, Alhaji Baba Basharu.
It said that the action was taken after a
preliminary hearing on the reports of alleged anti-party activities
within the state chapter.
This was contained in a statement issued
by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, in
Abuja, on Wednesday.
Metuh said that Basharu had been
referred to the national disciplinary committee of the party for
appropriate action in line with the provisions of the constitution of
the PDP.
The party specifically mentioned the alleged flouting of the provisions of the various articles of the party’s constitution.
The NEC said that the suspension was in line with the relevant provisions of the PDP constitution on disciplinary procedures.
